As a professor of English, my life has been dedicated to unraveling narratives and exploring the nuances of storytelling. But, there are some stories that don’t just deserve to be told; they demand it. My encounter with Gautam Dhimal and his extraordinary project, the “Himalayan Fashion Adventure,” is one such tale.
During a visit to Kathmandu for the “Born With Pride” conference, I had the privilege of crossing paths with this visionary individual. It was there that I became acquainted with his remarkable achievements in film production, wildlife, landscape, and aerial photography. Among numerous feats, one project stood out—the award-winning “Himalayan Fashion Adventure.” This project not only clinched International acclaim but also secured the 3rd Prize in the Fashion and Advertising Category at the 2022 International Photography Awards (IPA) — an honor that marked a significant milestone in the Award’s history and made Gautam Dhimal the first Nepali native to receive such recognition.
