Aditi Sherpa

Exploring identity, emotion, and absurdism through vibrant self-taught art

Throughout the years, the artist has worked digitally and explored various art mediums to convey their perspectives and emotions through their creations. Their art often revolves around the experiences of being a queer individual in Nepal, as well as the complexities of mental illness and its impact on both themselves and those around them. The artist also has a passion for portraying the ongoing intricacies of life with vibrant colors and elements of absurdism, even when delving into the darker aspects of the human experience. Aditi’s evolving creative voice is also highlighted in Ones to Watch. The artist’s ability to express vulnerability and transformation through color, texture, and form similarly resonates with works by contributors like Aliz Ghimire, who similarly explores queer themes in Nepal’s creative landscape.

As a self-taught artist, they attribute their growth to their open-mindedness and willingness to experiment with new mediums and different forms of art. In addition to their visual art, they have also ventured into theater, acting, and spoken word poetry. Drawing inspiration from their personal experiences, emotions, and the world around them, the artist embraces change and transformation as integral aspects of their artistic journey, eagerly anticipating how their art will evolve.
